2018

The Pigsty toolbox

Pigsty began as a personal collection of PostgreSQL operations tools and automation scripts, building the foundation for the distribution.

2020

Pigsty becomes open source

The toolbox was released as open source and developed into a PostgreSQL distribution covering deployment, observability, high availability, and backup and recovery.

ONGOING DEVELOPMENT

Database and infrastructure tooling

We maintain Pigsty, PIG, pg_exporter, Silo, SOW, and Barn, and contribute to package repositories, extension catalogs, and documentation.

PostgreSQL In Great STYle

Pigsty takes its name from PostgreSQL In Great STYle; PGSTY is the company's brand. The omitted i is a nod to the project's investment in shared infrastructure. Open-source software is provided under each project's license, while commercial services are delivered under an agreed scope and contract.
